Terms Of Business

Outlined below are the main terms for our wholesale distribution to provide you with an idea of how we work and for you to be able to judge if our proposition is one which is attractive and suitable for you.

As you will have no doubt already seen from our website we are based within the home of Italian leather, just outside Florence in Italy, where we have direct ''hands on'' relationships with all the Italian designers we stock. Due to this ideal position we are constantly able to provide our clients with the latest styles in Italian fashion at an affordable price. Cardi-Italia has been an established business for several years and has wholesale clients in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the United States as well as Australia.

Although we are based near Florence in Italy we are a Limited UK VAT registered company and have UK offices.

There are no long term contracts which you have to sign up to if you wish to work with us. We do not tie our customers into ordering a certain amount of bags on a regular basis over a certain period of time. The only stipulation we have is any order has to be of a minimum of 10 bags. Other than that it is completely flexible for you as to how often and how much you order from us. The quality of our products speaks for themselves, resulting in our clients coming back to us time and time again as their main provider.

There are benefits for ordering larger quantities, attractive discounts will be applied on quotations to reflect the cost of your order.

Orders are taken via email or through this site, we will then process the invoice for your final confirmation. Once you have confirmed, the order payment will be required upfront. This will be reviewed as our working relationship builds. We typically renegotiate after 3 months (dependant on the level of ordering).

Payment is received in the form of an electronic funds transfer. We invoice in UK pound sterling (£)for UK customers. We invoice in Euros for customers based outside the UK or clients who wish to pay via a Paypal account*.(*Please note fees may apply).

Once your order has been boxed and ready for shipping, you will receive emailed confirmation with an estimated timescale for delivery. Typically for shipments to the UK and Europe we recommend you allow approximately 5-7 working days, but we do endeavor to get your order to you as soon as possible and all orders are tracked. (see below details on shipping)

The cost of the shipment will be included within your invoice and is determined by the size and weight of your order. Cardi-Italia will insure your shipment at no extra cost to yourself for safe delivery.

We will give you an exact shipment figure for each order along with your invoice in order for you to confirm the total cost of the order before any commitment is made. *Please note that due to being an international company these shipment figures may vary dependant on the current exchange rates.

Production

Below is a statement issued with regards changes that will occur in the production and the maunfacturing process of the Daniela Moda and Cavalieri brands.

''Due to the increase in popularity of these bags and also the increasing labour costs in Italy it has been announced that these two brands will be now produced outside of Italy.

The leather will still be from florence and all the cutting of the patterns and the dying of the leather will be done in the main Italian production factory. However some styles will be shipped to China for stitching. Even though 80% of the work will be done in Florence they have to mark these as made in China for customs purposes. This mark will be in the form of a white removable tag that will be applied to the inside of each of the bags on the removable Cavalieri Daniela Moda Tag.

All production will be monitored in China by the current production manager to ensure that the quality of these two brands are in no way inferior to that which have been produced in Italy''.

We have always felt, as a company, it is important to be honest with any issues that arise so wished to inform all of our clients as soon as we had been explained the situation by the Designers. We appreciate that this decision may influence purchasing the Daniela Moda and Cavalieri styles in the future, however we are encouraged to see that they are looking at alternative methods which will endeavour to meet the ever increasing demand for their products which I think you will agree are a great quality and value for money set of brands which are still on of the leading marks within Italy.

Offers and Promotions:
All offers and promotions are subject to change without notification.

Shipping:
All orders are shipped from Florence, Italy. We do however offer a service for smaller orders. This entails grouping smaller shipments together and dispatching them to our UK office they are then sent via courier to the end client. This on average saves around £15-£40 on shipping costs and has been popular with many customers.

Import Taxes and charges:

It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure the import regulations of the country the order is to be shipped are adhered to. The buyer is responsible for paying any charges and taxes due on the imported goods.

All UK orders are subject to VAT at 20% this will be added to your final invoice*. Please Note: The invoice calculated by this website is NOT your final invoice and is only an order list your final invoice will be generated by us

Orders outside the UK are subject to local tax rates 20% VAT if ordering without a EC registered number. It is the responsibility of the client to pay the taxes due in the country of registration.

*Final invoice refers to the invoice showing payment details. This is not the one generated by this website.

Returns:

On receipt of their order, clients have 10 working days to notify us of any faults with any of the items delivered. After the 10 working days we do not hold liability for the items and liability is transferred to the client as they have reviewed the item/s and deemed it/them without fault.

Whenever we are notified of a fault, after the 10 working day period, we do however assess the situation / issue on an individual basis as it is important to us to ensure we deliver a high level of customer service which is fair to all our clients. It is also important that we maintain certain levels to continue offering our products at the best competitive price possible.

If an issue can be resolved by sending parts to the client we will do this. For example a screw missing a broken piece of hardware ect. If the item can be repaired we will organize this and return the item to the client with their next order.

Any replacement/repaired items that we have agreed upon will be sent with the clients next available order a credit will be applied to their account if the item is unavailable beyond repair.

For example of when an item has been replaced after the '10 working day period' was when a known fault was discovered on a style which we previously were marketing during the spring/summer of 2008/09. On this particular handbag there as an issue with the metal ring which formed part of the strap which kept coming loose. In this instance, we replaced any metal rings which were faulty and had suffered from this issue, but we also emailed all our clients forewarning them of the known fault.

**Please note that prices on items displayed on our catalog are subject to change - sometimes because of data entry errors, sometimes due to market conditions. That said, once you receive the final invoice from us requesting payment, the prices quoted stand for 7 days. After 7 days, the quote becomes invalid.
